The five-star Grand Luxury Royal Hideaway Corales Suites and Corales Beach are sister hotels, from the Barceló group, in the quiet yet high-end La Caleta area of the island with very contemporary suites perfect for families and junior suites for adults (age 16 years and over) respectively. The striking buildings, resemble the shape of an ocean liner, and are set in 10,000m² of stunning volcanic landscape.
Corales Suites consists of suites with one, two and three bedrooms, all boasting impressive ocean views, a separate living room, kitchen and terrace, and 54 come with their own private pool. The top floor Junior Suites (with sea view) next door at Corales Beach (adults only) are light, modern and spacious, while the floor-to-ceiling windows open onto a large outside area complete with sun loungers and Jacuzzi on the terrace. Bathroom toiletries are by Rituals and there is free Wi-Fi throughout both hotels. The architecture of the properties draws on influences from the local natural environment. Tenerife’s ocean coral provides much of the inspiration for many of the communal areas, while a cave-inspired reception is uniquely built into the rocks underground.
There are seven restaurants across the whole resort, three can be used by families and especially popular for day-to-day dining is Il Bocconcino by Royal Hideaway or La Trattoria by Il Bocconcino. For fine dining book El Rincón de Juan Carlos, located on the top floor in Corales Beach next to the trendy pool and cocktail bar, offering beautiful views over the Atlantic. It’s run by two Michelin-starred chefs who draw on local Canarian cuisine. Also at Corales Beach, San Hô (one Michelin star) is a must with its Peruvian-Japanese menu (Nikkei cuisine), and themed dinners or ‘Corales Pop Ups’ at Nao Atlantic Food Experience.
There’s also access to a pebble beach and an adults-only fully equipped gym with a daily programme of fitness activities (yoga, tai chi, pilates and more). If you want to rejuvenate there is a focus on wellness in the beautiful spa for adults complete with a sauna, steam room, plunge pool and a small swimming pool. The shops and restaurants of a quiet fishing village are just a minute’s stroll away.
