A very good family holiday hotel

R. O'Grady

A very good family holiday hotel. Huge but very well run. They have children’s club/activities/entertainment perfected. Would describe as a very good 4 star rather than a five star. The food offering is very varied but at times not up to standard. The hotel is very well maintained and there is always lots of space for everyone. The team are excellent. Apart from the food would highly recommend.

Superb resort that catered for our family in every way

Superb resort that catered for our family in every way. High quality accommodation, food, and service. Great facilities for kids and in close proximity to the beach and other amenities. Heated pool could have been a couple of degrees warmer (heard others saying that too), but otherwise a perfect holiday.

Superb resort … a perfect holiday.

Facilities for children were great…

The facilities for children were great, so was the location for the beach for the beach and the food. The room was a good size, and the staff friendly and helpful. The hotel itself was a bit “tired” and dated, but that didn’t spoil the week. We all had a great time – and my 2 year old loved the fish tanks!

Will definitely try and go again!

Fantastic hotel. As off season a few pools were closed but apart from that we all had a superb time. Kids club was a massive hit with out 2 boys – the staff were great with them. Couldn’t fault it again….this was our second time…and will definitely try and go again!

Consistent high standard over the years…

We have been going to Princess Yaiza now for many years and the standard has been consistent over the years. The hotel would need a bit of an update but the staff, service and food is still of high quality. I noticed that there was much more engagement with the kids in family part of the hotel which was welcome to our girls who are a bit too old now for Kikoland. The evening shows are also really enjoyable both from the staff of the hotel and externally

Great facilities and well run with good staff…

This is the third or fourth time we have styed at the PY and we love it. It is one of the best hotels of its type – great facilities and well run with good staff. It is also in a good position being about half way between the old town of Playa Blanca and the newer marina area, where there is a good selection of restaurants and shops. Both areas can be reached form the hotel by foot along the esplanade which runs along the coast at this point. You need to choose your time to visit Lanzarote because of the cool breeze which is great in the summer but can be a bit cold in the winter months. I think May to September are the best months. My son and his family with 2 children (2 and under 1) stayed at the PY in February this year and had a disappointing week of weather; but they said that the quality of the hotel compensated for the poor weather.

The hotel is very grand, spacious and very well kept…

I stayed at Princesa Yaiza in mid April 2018 with my husband and 3 year old twins. The private pick up from the airport which was organised from Travelbeam was seamless and they had car seats fitted in ready for the kids. The hotel is very grand, spacious and very well kept. Check in was easy with a nice welcome drink after such an early flight. The person who took us on the tour of the hotel along the way to our rooms was very friendly and helpful and ensured we knew where all the facilities were for the kids etc. The big soft play for the kids was brill and perfect as we could drop the kids off for a short time whilst we went and sat round the pool for half an hour. There was plenty of activities going on all day at the Kiko club too, but only went couple of times. As there was so many pools it gave guests the option, however at this time of year I found that the pools were too cold. The heated ones were better however the wind meant that it was very cold as soon as you got out.
The rooms had everything we needed as we opted for a two bedroom, two bathroom family suite with a balcony looking over the pool. I wouldnt say the rooms are 5* however there was absolutely nothing wrong with them and were spacious and cleaned very well. All the staff were very friendly and happy and smiley towards us and the kids. They never batted an eyelid when a tantrum erupted! We opted for the Half Board Deluxe option which we couldn`t fault! We were allowed to use all 7 restaurants in the hotel (3 buffet & 4 Ala Carte) which meant that it was not the same thing for me and my husband every night, and meant that we could try some new foods on the kids! The standard of the food was very good especially when your dealing with overtired 3 year olds at the dinner table. Isla de Loba & the Japanese Restaurant I would definitely recommend and would visit again if we were there. The beach in front of the hotel was nice and good for building sand castles on. Not too busy and clean.

Good hotel overall…

I have been numerous times. Good hotel overall but I feel they to upgrade more all over to keep the 5 star rating which I don`t think it is that rating currently. Restaurants need to change also same thing and very expensive for what you get.

We went to this hotel for the past 8 years…

We went to this hotel for the past 8 years but it was the first time at Easter.  The standard was not as high as usual which was disappointing.  No one helped during the 10 days we stayed with the umbrellas which are difficult to open, main pool was full of rubbish on windy days and glasses not collected for ages at the terrace.  One of the receptionist was rude about booking tennis at reception as she wanted us to walk all the way to Kikoland whilst she could do it online and she was not busy with other waiting guests.  Some issues at the buffets as well. Our feeling was that they were understaffed…

So much to do for kids…

I must admit not being accustomed to the `package holiday` I was entering the week away with some trepidation. However, after arriving at the hotel after a very eventful flight (13 month old vomiting everywhere!!) clutching a bag of soiled clothing and being somewhat bedraggled we were very much welcomed and comforted with a complimentary laundry service and a much needed glass or 2 of cava!
We stayed in a family room in D block which was perfect for our needs – very clean and tidy and all the facilities we could need having a small child with us. The pool was immaculate in our block as were all the others. The set up was fantastic for children of all ages. The food was great and plentiful. The staff were very engaging. Overall I would recommend this hotel to anyone but especially families with young children. There is so much to do for kids – soft play, different pool, events and different activities every day.
We will be returning soon….lets just hope the flight next time is less disastrous!

Beautiful hotel with friendly staff…

Beautiful hotel with friendly staff, nothing too much trouble. Bottle of wine given as it was my husbands birthday and room with a sea view. Only criticism was we couldn`t connect to wifi and wanted to show rest of family how fab it was, but unable to, although the lady on reception did put a password in for me, but it wouldn`t connect very well.
