The hotel was fabulous. The staff were incredible and everything was set up for families. The kids club was so well run so it meant we got some adult time as well.

It was our second visit to the Anassa, so we were able to relax instantly on arrival. The resort is a perfect size in that there are not too many people, so it feels a little exclusive, but at the same time the facilities are excellent. The kids’ club, the trainer Nicos and the yoga teacher Chris, were particularly good and Laura at the Watersports club was also great. The food was excellent and the service was also very good. My only complaint would be that the rooms could do with a bit of a ‘refresh’, in particular the bathrooms, where it takes a long time for the water to warm up and where the shower drains are pretty blocked, so taking a slightly longer shower can be a bit tricky without flooding the whole bathroom! The hotel has a lovely overall feel and ambience and the special nights put on by the hotel e.g. the village square and the meze evening are of a very high standard and great fun.

We loved The Anassa . The location is outstanding – the food and restaurants excellent and the service top class. Only issue (which is important) is on 2 consecutive nights in Oct 2018 there were beach parties related to a Company event. The Hotel allowed loud party music to continue until 03.00 hours which is far too late in our opinion. To be fair to the hotel we complained after the first night and the hotel gave us a quiet room away from the beach for our use on the second night. The hotel markets itself as a place of relaxation and tranquility and loud music until 03.00 is not really acceptable. Aside from this one issue we loved the hotel but would only return if we could have some guarantees re this noise issue

This hotel was fabulous…

This hotel was fabulous. ALL the staff were exceptional, the service and attention to detail were above all other 5 star hotels we have stayed in around the world. The food was amazing at the breakfast buffet. The only criticism we have is that when we booked we did request a `quiet room in a quiet area of the hotel` which was on our booking form. However, when we arrived we were in a room overlooking the children`s swimming pool in the worst position possible. There was no tea and coffee facilities in the room, there was no dressing table and no way of plugging in hair appliances without an extension lead. There was no double sinks and no ironing board which are all usually standard in an upgraded 5 star hotel. This was disappointing, however on our 2nd day following a meeting with the Assistant Rooms Division Manager we were moved to a more suitable area of the hotel with a coffee and tea making facility and extension lead which did improve the situation. From then on the Manager was exceptional in his service and ensured the rest of our stay was fabulous. If the prices in the restaurants, especially for wine, had been more realistic we would have eaten more in the hotel in the evenings. Would recommend though was great!

We thought the hotel and staff were excellent…

We thought the hotel and staff were excellent, especially as we were there when it was only a quarter full. Our room was lovely and they decorated it for our 50 th wedding anniversary. We were a little surprised that our room did not qualify for a coffee machine or tea machine! However when we asked why they produced one for us, but it`s worth checking that your rooms do have these facilities. Due to the fact the hotel was so empty not all the dining rooms were open at night, but it meant we could go a la carte at no extra cost. (We were on half board). The food was fantastic. The balconies weren`t very private but that is my only complaint! We would love to go back at the same empty time of year!

Both my wife and I were extremely impressed with this hotel. the location, the service, food, facilities are all excellent. The decor of the rooms are beginning to be slightly dated however it didn`t detract from the holiday at all.

The family enjoyed another fantastic holiday at the Anassa…

The family enjoyed another fantastic holiday at the Anassa in Cyprus. We requested specific adjoining suites on our booking form, and the hotel duly obliged. The senior management has changed since last year, and the hotel is still excellent. The staff, many of whom have been there since the hotel opened, are as professional as ever.
We had two issues. The fan in our room on arrival was shorting, producing a very acrid smell. This was reported to housekeeping in the morning. However, on returning to our room late afternoon, nothing had been done to rectify/replace it. After reporting the matter again to the staff at the main desk, the whole unit was replaced. I believe that checks should have been made to ensure everything in the room is in working order, and in a safe condition, prior to new guests occupying the room.
The only other issue we had was the amount we had to pay in advance on a credit card. On arrival, reception insisted on taking 250 euros per room per day, which in our case amounted to 7000 euros (14 days). This sum was queried, as we had paid for our holiday up front. Their response was that this is necessary because of non-payment issues with other guests in the past. I consider the amounts involved should be reviewed, as 7000 euros blocked on a credit card is excessive.

Travelbeam arrangements excellent; flight and transfer worked fine. Hotel lovely…

Travelbeam arrangements excellent; flight and transfer worked fine. Hotel lovely – good food and service but see message below I sent to the manager.

Dear Mr Wurst,

We had a lovely holiday at the Anassa and I have answered your two questions most positively. There are, however, two issues that I thought it might be helpful to share with you privately rather than on social media.

The first concerns children. We appreciate that the Anassa is a family-friendly hotel and have no real problem with that. During the day most children seemed to disappear, although it was surprising to find small children in the main pool, some even in nappies – never a pleasant sight, while the children’s pool (mosaic) was unoccupied. At mealtimes, particularly breakfast but in the evening too, it was difficult to find a quiet corner of the Amphora buffet restaurant. It was quieter in Helios but even at the Pelagos fish restaurant one could not escape the dreaded baby buggies, high chairs and screaming infants. The food and service were always excellent but you could not easily have a relaxed meal. A number of other guests told us that they had not been expecting this and that it would put them off returning.

The second point is about tipping, always a vexed question. Your menus all stated quite clearly that service and tax were included in the prices quoted and yet all bills came with a printed space to include a tip, which the staff clearly expected. This is just not on. You should either not include service (and lower your prices accordingly), allowing guests to reward service in the American style, or you should include service and not try to persuade customers to tip; they will reward good service if they wish. This is the preferred European way.

Neither of these points reduced our enjoyment of your excellent hotel but I suggest that they do need consideration before your reputation suffers.
