Shangri-La Le Touessrok Resort and Spa has undergone extensive refurbishments recently offering contemporary island chic accommodation and world-renowned first class Asian hospitality.

The epitome of five-star luxury, this resort lies on the pure white sandy beaches of Trou d’Eau Douce bay on the beautiful east coast of Mauritius. The service is superb and arguably some of the best on the island; genuinely warm but not obtrusive with great attention to detail.

The spacious suites, pools, restaurants and main facilities of this exclusive paradise are located on the mainland; however, guests have access (10 minutes by boat) to two islands across the water from the resort. These include Ile aux Cerfs, with its championship golf course, and Ilot Mangénie, a truly secluded private retreat which also has its own restaurant.

The stunningly redesigned rooms and suites at Shangri-La Le Touessrok are spacious with influences from the surrounding natural beauty and native culture, such as local artworks, marble floors and mango wood. All the rooms enjoy breath taking uninterrupted views of the sparkling Indian Ocean through large bay windows.

Influenced by the resort’s transformation, there are plenty of contemporary and refreshing dining options from the world cuisine offerings at the main restaurant Le Bazar, to signature Kushi the Japanese and sushi restaurant overlooking the resort’s stunning lagoon. Guests can experience elegant and contemporary Indian recipes at Safran or enjoy lively theme nights with local and international DJ’s at Republik Beach Club & Grill.

The property also offers an array of water-based activities such as the very best paddle boarding, snorkelling, parasailing and Hobie Cats. For land sports you can enjoy the four floodlit tennis courts and expert tennis coaching, a jogging track and more. There’s a fitness gym, and a CHI spa with an ayurvedic garden.

Wonderful hotel…

Stayed at this wonderful hotel for five days as part of our 35th Wedding Anniversary. From start to finish it was an unforgettable experience. The food in all the restaurants (including Le Bazar buffet) was top quality. Indian/Mauritian food at Safron was the best we have ever had when on holiday. This is saying something as we never thought we would taste better than the Indian restaurant at Shangri La Rasa Ria in Borneo. The Japanese restaurant Kushi was closed for refurbishment during our stay but the menu was available to anyone who wanted it at the Republik. We did not try it as it`s not our favourite food and as we were there for only five nights there was more than sufficient options for us at the other restaurants.
Our room was a Ocean View Suite in the Frangipani Wing and was stunning. Champagne on arrival, fittings and furnishings were exquisite. Bathroom fittings and toiletries of the highest standard. Mini bar restocked daily by the time we returned from breakfast. Great TV and Bluetooth speaker too. The staff throughout the resort are marvellous and a credit to the Manger Mr Bernhard Haechler, himself a great advert for Shangri- La hotels. Personally I cannot speak highly enough of Adash and Sebastian who worked at the republic Beach Bar during Happy Hour every evening. They looked after us like we were royalty. A great way to end the afternoon watching the sun go down. Vijay was marvellous at a la carte breakfast in Rebublik Beach Bar. The steak and eggs were delicious.
Thank You Mr Haechler for your personal time with my family and I and also the manner in which you treat each and every guest you meet. There are many hotel managers around the world who could learn a few lessons from your good self. For me the crowning glory is the spectacular Ile Aux Cerfs golf course situated on an island about a 12 minute ferry ride away. A memorable experience me for sure and one I was looking forward to for some time. It did not disappoint and a must for any keen golfer who visits the resort. It is by far the most spectacular course I have had the pleasure to play and a great test of golf off the white tees. Many thanks to all the golf course staff, too many to mention by name, for who nothing was too much trouble.
Finally, I am not one for going back to the same place twice as I think the world has so much to offer but I will definitely make an exception and return to Le Touessrok within a couple of years. I really can`t give this place a greater recommendation than that.

We had a brilliant time in Mauritius, Le Touessrok is an amazing hotel. We stayed in the Junior Suite Hibiscus Beach which had direct access to the beach. The kids loved the freedom this gave them and spent their entire holiday on the beach while we kept an eye on them from the room. Brilliant for everyone.
