Hippie chic meets creature comforts at this delightful riad, only five minutes’ walk from the central square of the city. Owned by Vanessa Branson and housed in an ancient townhouse, this distinctive property has been designed to enchant with its 800m2 roof terrace, major contemporary art works and three large shaded courtyards.

Every room is individually decorated with a palette of warm, vibrant colours and comes with huge bathtubs to soak in and power showers.

Food here is inventive and prepared with only the freshest of ingredients from the local markets or from the riad's own organic garden out of town. There's a very hip restaurant which even has its own stage and the whole riad can be hired for special occasions.

Of special note is the small but restful Spa which includes two treatment rooms, a 12m heated pool and a hammam whilst the huge roof terrace has amazing city views and comes complete with hanging gardens and a 20m putting green.

18 rooms & suites.

10 minutes by car from Marrakech Airport.

Children are welcome (it may not be suitable for young children).

One restaurant / one bar. Dinner is served in the restaurant room, courtyard or on the roof terrace.

A vibrant and more “off the wall” choice of destination, Morocco has recently rocketed inpopularity because of its close proximity to the UK by direct flight combined with its air of mysticism, and the emergence of new fabulously stylish hotels.

With the straits of Gibraltar as a border, it is characterised by some breathtaking landscapes from the snow-capped Atlas Mountains to the searing sands of the Sahara Desert.

Vibrant Marrakech is utterly captivating and rises from the middle of the desert like an oasis. Visiting the walls of the old city, it feels like you are stepping back in time to ancient Arabia. The combination of heat, colour, noise and swirling scents, such as orange blossom and spices, make a trip to this city an intoxicating experience not to be missed.

If you like shopping, spend a day in the souks where you can buy all manner of trinkets, furniture and jewellery – but be prepared to haggle! However, if you want to enjoy some peace and quiet you will find many of the world-class hotels here are a sanctuary of calm with walled gardens and tinkling fountains, where you can enjoy a refreshment of mint tea and local pastries. We recommend that you also spend a few days in the Atlas Mountains, which are extremely beautiful and are home to some exclusive retreats.
