Located on the second row of the seafront, the magnificently elegant Deluxe Sport Suites have a private pool. They are composed of a very sizeable and beautifully decorated open plan living area with raised king-sized bed. Located at the front edge of the Lagoon Wing with a size of 70m² these open plan suites offer a magnificent view to the sea. These two floor luxurious residences are located on the second row of the village. These villas are ideal for a family or couples of friends. The yard entrance has a private parking area in front.The ground floor features a living room, a master bedroom with walk in wardrobe and en suite bathroom with Jacuzzi bathtub and hydro massage shower.The private infinity pool is temperature controlled (on request: for temperature over 25 Cº an extra charge is required). The second floor of the villa includes a stylish lounge suite and sleeping quarters with a oversized king size bed. The bathtub is free standing in the centre of the room. Royal Residence

Indoor living space 360m², outdoor living space 1040 m². It consists of two areas, separated by a stone-laid private path and it is located in the first row of the village in front of the beach. The front open-plan area features a living room with a dining room and a bathroom with Jacuzzi and color therapy bathtub, which is adjacent to a master bedroom and a lavish en suite bathroom. The modern bathroom has an overflowing deep soaking Jacuzzi, aromatherapy, color therapy bathtub, his & hers washbasins, and a separate rain shower cabin. The garden is furnished with sun beds, a Pavilion and an open-air lounge. The private infinity pools are temperature controlled (on request: for temperature over 25 Cº an extra charge is required) and allows swimming and exercising against a smooth current. Conveniently placed only 15 minutes by car from Heraklion Airport (however in high season you do get some aircraft noise as a result).

Great, luxury hotel - staff all friendly and very helpful - great with children overall. Lovely pool area and no rushing for sunbeds in the morning which was a bonus. Is isolated though - fine if you want to lie down next to the pool or on the beach for the duration of the holiday, but if you want to intersperse that with 2 or 3 days of doing something, there didn't appear to be a lot on offer. The hotel staff could not advise on anything other than the aquarium and Da Vinci exhibition (not great for kids). Also, nowhere to walk to - you have to taxi everywhere which was disappointing - is even too far to walk into Gouves or the Old Gouves town. Restaurants are nice, but very over-priced for what you get. Again, the hotel not helpful on eating anywhere other than the hotel - not sure if this is just to keep you there to spend money, but we found lovely Taverna in Old Gouves, and lots of decent eating out in Gouves town (hotel didn't mention any of that when asked - they only direct you to Hersonnisos which is a good 15 minute taxi journey away. Also, you are told there are 6 dining options at the hotel - in fact that includes a Greek restaurant which was closed, and the pool cafe which is only open during the day! Kids club was the major disappointment for us. It advertises itself for 3+ kids unsupervised, but younger are welcome with parents to supervise. Our daughter is 2.5 years old and therefore needed one of us with her to supervise her under the kids club rules. This was fine for us. But the staff were very unwelcoming, no interest shown in helping us understand what was on offer, and we were positively ignored. I would go as far as to say, they didn't want anyone young in there. Also, in spending time in there, we couldn't see any activities apart from drawing with pencils/crayons. It was seriously lacking in toys (virtually none) and any activities for even the older children. Basically, it was an outside playground with a hut and a few tables and chairs inside. Seriously not up to the standard of the hotel. I wouldn't recommend the Amirandes for families on this basis. Otherwise, transfers, quality of accomodation, hotel environment is all great.

Fantastic hotel and a really wonderful holiday. Service was exemplary, the room was perfect, amazingly clean everywhere, and staff all excellent. Restaurants also very good. Not true what people are saying on tripadvisor re high cost - the meals cost no more than one would expect from such a good hotel.

A really beautiful hotel through both its architecture and location on the beach. It provides a calming and relaxed atmosphere with style and elegance. The food and service were excellent. We especially enjoyed the champagne breakfasts accompanied by a 'Kenny G' style saxaphonist. The rooms were very comfortable and clean with good facilities. Our room was a 'Luxury room' which had great views over the lagoon and sea beyond which meant we could take in the fantastic sunsets each evening. Looking forward to returning back to this hotel hopefully later this year!
