Customer rating:

Have stayed at both the Anassa & Elysium. The Anassa is more exclusive purely on size of the hotel and clientele, having said that we loved our stay at the Elysuim. What did we think of the Elysium? The hotel is not cheap when it comes to sundries (Eur15 for a Kir Royale which is offered to you when you sit down for dinner; great whizz that a lot of places try) but there is a high staff to guest ratio which ensures that the service is excellent. The attention to detail is very good and nothing seemed too much trouble for them to do for you. Breakfast is excellent; Chef that cooks the eggs/omeletes is very entertaining. Lunch & dinner good but if you want authentic cuisine then eat out. We had a complimentary upgrade (thank you) to half-board from B&B. The half board includes a buffet dinner which did seem expensive if it had not been included. They have different themed nights but on the whole whether it was Asian, International or Greek, the menus seemed almost the same, but the food was good. Again, alcohol expensive especially the wine. This last point brings me to my main gripe. Whenever someone says I don't mean to be a snob, but........ Whatever is than said afterwards makes them sound exactly that! So, I don't mean to sound like a snob but, I think we were one of the few families that didn't have at least one tattoo between us. I know one should not judge a book by it's cover but I make an exception at this. How can some of these people afford the prices at a hotel like this? Easy. EasyJet flight to Paphos; complimentary upgrade to Half-Board & for lunch? Go to the local corner shop for your sarnie, bag of crisps, Mars Bar, bottle of Fanta (family size) & your copy of The Sun. That would be my biggest critique of the hotel. What clientele do they want to attract? Would we go there again? Yes. Service excellent; everywhere from front desk to Laundry service (get some clothes laundered, they smell wonderful). Kids Club excellent mainly because of Rosslyn. Pools and poolside area very clean & Spa/Gym good (be warned pools are clean but bracing). Always nice to be met at the airport by a stretch Merc! Thank you again for the holiday.

Customer rating:

The Elysium is a lovely hotel with friendly professional staff and excellent food (though we only ate in the Lemonia buffet restaurant with our children. Only thing that stops us rating it a seven was that as we had a late booking this time our room was situated over the piano bar which could clearly be heard below and next to what was obviously the cleaning staffs' laundry area which produced bangs and thumps from early in the morning. My advice would be to make sure that your room is not over public areas and you will have a great time.
