Blessed with year-round sunshine, the island of Tenerife is an excellent place to escape to during our winter months and although the beaches and warm waters are its main appeal, it also has many other attractions which include the emergence of a new breed of deluxe hotels.
Tenerife is known mainly for its busy tourist areas, but there is much more to this diverse Canarian island. If you look further afield, away fromthe hustle and bustle, you can discover a lesser known side to the island including picturesque towns like Costa Adeje and La Laguna and areas of outstanding natural beauty, such the island's botanical gardens or the national park surrounding Mount Teide.
Lanzarote is located just off the coast of Africa and is the most easterly of the Canary Islands. Being a volcanic island, it has some stunning scenic features such as the longest volcanic tunnel in the world, the Atlantida Tunnel. Despite the volcanic nature of the island, there are several beautiful white beaches such as Playa Blanca and Papagayo.
Gran Canaria is dubbed ‘The Small Continent’ as it has extremely varied landscapes with European, African and American vegetation. Maspalomas is the most beautiful of the many beaches on the island. Natural attractions such as a magnificent thermal spring called Balneario de los Berrazales and other volcanic sights are great for a day's sightseeing.

Customer rating:

A comfortable hotel - biggest asset being a very friendly staff at all levels and excellent service. Two small criticisms: food in buffet staid and unimaginative and the gourmet restaurant having a limited menu which, when sampled, was frankly disappointing. The poolside bar and restaurant was designed really for only fine weather, and as it was the only place to eat at lunchtime it did not suit when the weather turned a bit cold. Overall a pleasant enough experience.

Really lovely hotel- the staff and wonderful.Food in the buffet restaurant is excellent but the gourmet restaurant is truly foul. I went there for my birthday dinner and left before the desserts- I could not eat the soup because it was too salty and the cheese course was icy cold. The meal for 2 was £150 and my birthday was spoilt! The kids' club was very good but it shut for two hours during the day and was completely shut for two full days so you still did a lot of child care. Very nice holiday overall. Please make sure that all your travellers with kids get priority booking for the plane. It was a scramble to get 4 seats together.

We had a rooftop solarium with private jacuzzi which was lovely. Quite private. We didn't bother even going to the poolside as our own roof area was so nice and peaceful. Depending on how much privacy you want, it is worth paying the extra for this, rather than the Garden jacuzzi rooms, as these are overlooked and appeared less private (we could see into the one below from our balcony). The hotel is lovely, and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The glass of champagne on arrival was a lovely welcoming touch. I did feel the room was a little overpriced though, as the furnishings were showing a little wear, although they were very clean, as was the rest of the hotel, and the gardens etc were very tidy and well maintained. As we were on honeymoon, we were kindly given a free dinner in the restaurant. Great food and suberb service, but quite poor value - we wouldn't have eaten there if we'd had to pay! (Although it may be just us given the £/Euro exchange rate in May 2009!) The breakfast was fabulous - catered for all tastes and nationalities. Would recommend as a honeymoon hotel. We didn't mind that the hotel was set at the top of a steep hill, but if you are disabled or find it tough walking, then it's not advisable.

Customer rating:

Everything was excellent, the trip out was planned to perfection except on the return from the hotel, the transfer taxi came far too early and we had to sit around the airport for hours which unfortunately put a bit of a dampner on the holiday. The hotel, as usual was very good - this being our 3rd time there. Your organisation was very good and we would certainly use you again.
