Hotel and staff were excellent. Golf course has some of the most difficult greens to putt especially if the pins are in tricky places. Only real complaint relates to the rearaurants. I do not like Japanese food so that was a no go. I enjoy eating in Michelin restaurants but, unfortunately the menu at this one was too over the top for me. The other restaurants were all fine as far as the food is concerned but the menus were too alike and the choices were minimal. On the whole a great resort with fantastic potential when Ritz Carlton really get to grips with what they will make it into.

Villa Room - fabulous - large room and bathroom, both very well appointed. House-keeeping excellent. Grounds immaculate. Staff friendly and attentive. A la carte breakfast at the Mirador was not available, despite the fact it was stated in the literature and on the website, it is only aparently available in "high season". Four of the advertised restaurants closed at 6pm. Was really disappointed about this. Of the remaining: The Argentinian, the Itallian and the Verrandah had the same menu - in my mind, that quantifies them as one restaurant. We ate there twice. Food was okay. The Sports Bar had three different sports showing at all times - all with the sound on! Couldn't eat there because of the conflicting noise. Mirador Restaurant was good, but due to the limited menu we only ate there once. At other times took a taxi to other areas to find better selection of restaurants. Didn't eat in the gourmet restaurant as reviews we read were not very positive so we were reluctant to take a chance at the prices charged. Golf driving range, spa and gym all super.

Overall we thought the hotel was excellent and very well designed. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The accommodation was first class, the beds very comfortable (which matters a lot to us). However, our pool was not heated which meant it was unusable and we love swimming. The main pool was slightly heated but we would have preferred to use our own pool. We would also have liked a shower in the villa - we had only hand held showers which flooded the bathroom out each time they were used. We also found the restaurant on site excessively expensive - London prices but without the quality and variety. The lunchtime menu was unimaginative but pricey again - a burger which cost 16 euros was inedible, a small salad composed of a few lettuce leaves, parmesan, sundried tomatoes in a huge beautiful glass dish was 13 euros approx - the same in Elounda was around 4 euros. We walked the 40 minute walk into Elounda each evening where we found excellent restaurants and at a reasonable cost. I have to say we returned thoroughly refreshed and having had a wonderful rest which we needed so much. The view from the gym at the hotel is one which will last me forever - imagine pounding on the treadmill looking out to a blue, blue sea with not a cloud in the sky. NB The pools can be heated for a fee in all the villas.

Fabulous. My family and I were looking for a holiday of sun and total relaxation. This is exactly what we got. The hotel was perfect, the range of activities were great depending on how much or how little we felt like doing. The overall experience was great - Travelbeam made the entire process seamless. Thanks for an excellent holiday.

Plus points: Beautiful rooms with large terrace with sunbeds, table, chairs. Service fairly good (by European standards) and good choice of restaurants. Immaculately kept grounds and lovely pool areas. Large no of pools (6?) means that there's no race for sunbeds. Short distance from airport. On the negative side: The hotel is very large, 500 rooms which makes it a little impersonal and service at times can be haphazard, particularly at breakfast which is a bit of a scrum frankly and needs sorting out. Food and drink very pricey (even given the £/euro) eg 6 euro for a small coke round the pool. The main downside for us though (and for anyone with children) was that the pools are unheated and chilly. It does not get hot enough in the Canaries to get away with unheated pools.

The Elysium is a lovely hotel with friendly professional staff and excellent food (though we only ate in the Lemonia buffet restaurant with our children. Only thing that stops us rating it a seven was that as we had a late booking this time our room was situated over the piano bar which could clearly be heard below and next to what was obviously the cleaning staffs' laundry area which produced bangs and thumps from early in the morning. My advice would be to make sure that your room is not over public areas and you will have a great time.
Elysium - Cyprus, Jane Charlesworth (October 2008)

Very enjoyable long weekend. The hotel room was newly refurbished and was therefore lovely. The golf was excellent though the only complaint is that the greens could have been swept of dew in the early mornings. The food was great. Overall a wonderful weekend.
Hyatt Regency La Manga - Spain, EJM (October 2008)

From the moment we arrived we were made to feel special. The staff were amazing, efficient, friendly, nothing was too much trouble. The food was very good, breakfasts were a feast, and we had dinner twice in the Apollo restaurant , twice because it was so good we wanted to take our friends there. The room was lovely, bathroom, spotless and the turn down service was much appreciated. The toiletries were excellent quality, and my husband loved the dressing gown and slippers! I would go again tomorrow if I could afford it, a classic example of you get what you pay for. Wonderful. Thank you so much for organising it.
Columbia Beach Resort - Cyprus, Ann Parker (October 2008)

Truly fabulous! From the moment we arrived the service whilst never over bearing was simply impeccable.
Abama Golf & Spa Resort - Tenerife, Stuart Boon (September 2008)

Very good hotel - friendly and good levels of service from the hotel staff. It is set in lovely grounds at the top of a cliff overlooking a wonderful beach and next to a golf course. I travelled alone with my 2 3/4 year old daughter and we both appreciated the 'Pirate Club' for kids which was basically a full day creche for children from 6mtths to 6 years. Good choice of restaurants and bars, and generally the hotel is clean and relatively modern (although not ultra modern). Would recommend to all types of travellers and holiday makers - a little bit of something for everyone
Sheraton Algarve Pine Cliffs Resort - Portugal, James (September 2008)

We really liked the hotel. Our first night we were moved out to block 10 but by the next afternoon we were moved to block 3. That's when the vacation started. I don't think I would have enjoyed it half as much if we weren't moved. We did three nights half board. It was great for the first morning but it became more of a nuisance after that. The buffet at the residence reception (O'Grill) was much handier. Rooms were very modern and clean, microwave was the same as the one at home which was handy. The only complaint occured the last day. The transfer car back to the hotel only had lap belts (not shoulder) and they were very slack. I was very anxious about having my children travel in that state of a vehicile. We didn't have time to wait for another car. The hotel was very good and would reccomend it to others with small children. Thanks.
Sheraton Algarve Pine Cliffs Resort - Portugal, Happy Parent (August 2008)

On arrival our greeting and welcome from Reception was excellent. I asked at Reception if I could have an iron and ironing board and within 5 minutes it was in the room for the next 10 days. The site is very impressive and the sand pool was great. Buffet breakfast was excellent. We did eat in the Floating Restaurant twice which was a lovely setting, service was good, food ok not exceptional for the price. All the staff were excellent, attentive and polite. Overall opinion was that we really enjoyed it. I must also comment that my past two dealings in April and July with yourselves has been excellent and you will be our first point of call for our next holiday.

I wish to thank you for organising such a fantastic holiday! The entire trip was completely flawless and ran like clockwork - the hotel (Sheraton La Caleta, Tenerife) was fabulous and the timing of our flights and transfers was impeccable. In the future we will continue to book all of our vacations with Travelbeam as we felt that your prices were very competitive. My Mum booked this holiday for myself and my partner as a birthday present, so once again many thanks for a fabulous trip. I look forward to liaising with you towards the end of the year in order to arrange our next holiday!
Sheraton la Caleta - Tenerife, Rebekah Milne (July 2008)

We were really impressed with the Elounda Gulf Villas and Suites. We stayed in a suite, so we had a lovely room, decorated beautifully with a large bathroom and sitting area with kitchen facilities. It was very comfortable. The reception staff were really helpful in suggesting restaurants for the evening meals in neighbouring towns. The restaurant in the hotel is very good but expensive, so we only dined there twice in 10 days. There is a greek night, which was fun with all the dancing but I didn't think the buffet was that good. My only slight disapointment was Elounda itself. Elounda Gulf Villas and Suites is not surrounded by beautiful views, You can see the sea from the pool area (which is a lovely way to spend the day) but thats it. I would really recommend a car if you are staying here so you can drive around and be independent. This hotel is wonderful and they are very helpful and for a relaxing break to enjoy the weather it is a perfect escape.
Elounda Gulf Villas and Suites - Crete, Michelle Abrahams (August 2008)

Abama exceeded our expectations. The rooms were superb, very clean, spacious, the most luxurious linens and pillows, and lovely bathrooms. The resort, pools and gardens were delightful, couldn't fault them. The beach was nice with the novel glass elevator. The food however was a little dissapointing, it was very expensive for the quality provided, however breakfast was great. All in all, we loved it, would go back and would recommend it.
Abama Golf & Spa Resort - Tenerife, Family from Suffolk (August 2008)

Excellent hotel, mightily impressed on arrival, location is perfect for Faro airpot, marina and local beach. Service was very friendly.. especially on looking after interests of the toddlers we have. Apartment was spacious and well maintained. For a family with young children you can't get much better than the sand pool.. safe, warm and clean. All you would expect from a 5* hotel with a couple of unexpected positive twists. We'll be going back!
The Lake Spa Resort - Portugal, Mr. A.D.W. Clarke (August 2008)

We were very impressed with the hotel and it offered a very high level of service, beyond what we had expected. The staff were very pleasant & whilst keeping a professional distance they were friendly & we enjoyed the interaction with them, room service was a real treat too. The experience is ideal for families & those looking for a relaxing break in a luxurious setting. Our only notes would have been: The hotel could have a designated pool area for children & separate one for adults. The shuttle to the beach was good & the beach great, however, the service ended at 5.30pm & we thought there was scope for a luxurious evening setting on the beach. We do realise that they are keen to have their guests returing to the hotel to use the restaurants though. All in all a very luxurious hotel.
InterContinental Aphrodite Hills - Cyprus, Simon Baird (August 2008)

We enjoyed the hotel very much. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The location was excellent and our apartment overlooked the marina which was a wonderful view. The marina is an enjoyable 10 minute walk from the hotel. Our apartment was nicely presented although not as luxurious as we thought it would be. The photo's on the websites were obviously showing their 'best' rooms and apartments. We also struggled only having a one bed apartment and wished we now had a 2 bed. We were happy with the babysitting service and highly recommend this to give you a chance to have an evening out in peace. We hired the same lady twice which was nice to do.There was one problem which was letting the hotel down and that was the lack of easy access for pushchairs and wheelchairs. We had to negotiate lots of steps whenever we wanted to go to the main reception and into the breakfast/restaurant area. On the whole i would give the hotel a 4 star rating rather than a 5 star which 'fits' the advertising you see on the website etc.. We would certainly stay there again for another holiday though.

Thank you so much for arranging our holiday to the Anassa hotel – we had a fabulous holiday and everything ran very smoothly. The weather has fantastic and the whole resort was breathtaking; none of us wanted to come home! We will definitely be going back so please keep us in the loop for future deals.
Anassa - Cyprus, Nikki Bradley (July 2008)

Overall, we did think it was fabulous. The only comment I would make is that it was pricey to eat at lunchtimes. The 2 bed apartment was very roomy and serviced daily and the treatments at the spa were out of this world. Its position by the Marina was very convenient, and we enjoyed the fact that it wasn't overcrowded. We would definitely go again.
The Lake Spa Resort - Portugal, Sue Barclay (July 2008)

A great hotel with excellent service. All the employees were convivial helpful and polite. Disabled facilities were good except the pool which had no grab rails to hold onto.
The Lake Spa Resort - Portugal, Fiona Jarvis (July 2008)

We all had a wonderful weekend, absolutely loved the 'Kasbah', we had amazing weather and great service. All in all a really memorable time, so Thank You.
